General Guidance on Club Protocols and Golf Etiquette

We all want to enjoy our golf but while playing our part, we all have a part to play and this guidance is provided on how this might be best achieved for players, the course and those who look after us leading ultimately to our mutual prosperity.

There are certain club protocols and matters of etiquette that all members and their guests should follow.

Booking .
At the time of booking, please ensure that you include all players who intend to play on the start sheet. If a player is not listed and the Pro Shop add another person to what appears to be a vacant slot, it is the named person who will hold entitlement to the tee.

Unable to Play.
Please cancel your personal tee slot/withdraw from a competition at the earliest opportunity. There is intense pressure on tee availability, particularly at popular times.

Before you Play.
For every tee booking, at least 1 member of your group must check-in with the Pro Shop staff before teeing off. Please do not go off early, unless cleared to do so by either the Pro Shop or Course Marshal – another member may have been added to your group and will expect to tee off at the allocated time.

Guests.
Please ensure that the appropriate Green Fee is paid before proceeding to the course.

Take Due Care.
Never tee off before the time specified on the signage on the 1st Hole, Creek and Park, and the 10th hole, Creek. This is in place to allow the Greens staffs to conduct their duties in safety. Never endanger the Greens staffs; please be patient - they will clear out of your way as soon as they are able.

Pace of Play.
Slow play is never welcome so please play as quickly as you can, in a concerted effort not to fall back, while keeping an eye on those behind you, calling a group through promptly where necessary. Adhere to the 3 minutes rule for ball searches and always be ready to play your shot. Before you ostracize others, consider the conditions and natural ebb and flow of the course layout and always act with respect and courtesy – we all have handicaps.

Protect the Tees and Greens.
Please respect the blue lines, ropes and directional signs and refrain from driving/parking buggies and trollies on the tees and fringes. This will assist the efforts of the Greens staffs to maintain the best playing conditions around these essential areas of the course.

Maintain Bunkers and Putting Surfaces.
Please rake a bunker after your visit and leave it in the condition you would expect to find it. Repair your own pitch mark and any others you observe while waiting to putt. Why not adopt a specific hole as a group upon which to exhibit your care and attention?

Emergency.
Should you experience an emergency situation regarding the well-being of a player on the course, dial 999, subsequently followed by informing the club management through the Pro Shop (01329 827222 Option 2). TCC staffs are first aid trained will attend immediately. A defibrillator is available behind the bar in the clubhouse.

Litter.
Regretfully, we do have a problem while being lucky enough to have an abundance of wildlife on the course. So please if you see it, pick it up and bin it.

Thank you and enjoy your golf.
