OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 18.2)
A ball is out of bounds when it is on or beyond a public footpath or pavement. Such areas are INDICATED by white posts which are immovable obstructions.
The following are DEFINED by the line between the course-side points at ground level of white posts lor white lines if present).
• Left of the 10th hole on the Creek Course.
• Left of the 16th fairway ending with the white post by the last oak tree and running diagonally left to the white post at the edge of the lake in front of the 15th Tee. These posts are treated as boundary objects during the play of the 16th. For all other holes, they are immovable obstructions.
• Right of the 1st, 8th and 9th holes on the Park Course.
• Around the Clubhouse. All Car Parks.
PENALTY AREAS (Rule 17)
Penalty areas are INDICATED by red or yellow stakes. They are DEFINED by red or yellow painted lines. In the absence of painted lines, the margins are DEFINED where the ground breaks down to form the depression containing water.
As an extra relief option for the penalty area left of the 5th tees when playing the 5th hole, adding one penalty stroke, a player may drop a ball in the dropping zone which is the raised mown area between the rear tee and the penalty area. The dropping zone is a relief area under Rule 14.3.
PROVISIONAL BALL FOR BALL IN A PENALTY AREA
If a player does not know whether their ball is in the penalty area (holes 5, 15, 18 & Park 2nd) and if the original ball is not found it would be known or virtually certain that the ball is in the penalty area, the player may play a provisional ball in accordance with Rule 17.1 d(3).
RELIEF FROM AERATION HOLES
If a player's ball lies in or touches an aeration hole on the putting green, relief may be taken under Rule 16.1.
NO PLAY ZONES
The practice greens behind the 9th hole on the Creek Course are no play zones that are to be treated as an abnormal course condition. Free relief must be taken from interference by the no play zones under Rule 16.1f.
Staked trees are no play zones:
• If a players ball lies anywhere on the course opria in a penally area and it lies on or touches such a
tree or such a tree interferes with the players stance or area of intended swing, the player must take relief under Rule 16.1f.
BALL DEFLECTED BY POWER LINE
Model Local Rule E-11 is in effect for a ball that hits a power line or tower or a wire or pole supporting a power line (stroke must be cancelled and replayed).
ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITIONS (Rule 16)
The following are ground under repair (G.U.R.) for which free relief MAY be taken:
• Areas in bunkers where sand has been removed by the movement of water resulting in deep furrows
• Tractor or vehicle ruts (not shollow indenations). Any bunker marked as G.U.R. is in the general area.
IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS CLOSE TO PUTTING GREENS
In addition to the types of interference described in Rule 16.1 a, when a ball lies in the general area, interference also exists if an immovable obstruction is: on the player's line of play, is within two club-lengths of the putting green, and is within two-club-lengths of the ball. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1 b.
(Exception - There is no relief under this Local Rule if the player chooses a line of play that is clearly unreasonable).
ANIMAL DUNG
At the player's option, dung from any animal may be treated either as:
• A loose impediment that may be removed under Rule 15.1, or
• Ground under repair trom which relief is allowed under Rule 16.1.
Unless otherwise noted, the penalty for breach of a Local Rule is the General Penalty.
PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULE:
Match Play - Loss of Hole;
Stroke Play - Two Strokes.
LIGHTNING RISK
In the event of lightning or a thunderstorm occuring whilst you are on the golf course, players are advised to leave the golf course immediately. If you choose to play on, it is at your own risk. No siren/alarm will be sounded by the club
